James is Contracts Estimator at Fire Glass Installation. He is responsible for providing our installation clients or potential clients with the best possible costings for all glazing work and services.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY AT FIRE GLASS LIKE FOR YOU?
A typical day at FG Installation for me is to get in early so I can check through all my emails and sort any admin over breakfast.
From there, it can become different every day, from answering or making phone calls to prospective clients, sourcing prices from suppliers, and engaging with our customers to ensure a flawless service from initial inquiry to handover.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Variety combined with getting to come to work every day and work with great people.
WHAT PARTS OF YOUR JOB DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING?
Learning every day about the unique nature of many of our projects.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO IS SEEKING THE SAME LINE OF WORK?
All you need is maximum enthusiasm and a commitment to improve. My experience has vastly improved and I've really enjoyed the journey.
WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I'm really into running and hiking as I love being out in the mountains. I'm also a big reader, my favourite book is the Count of Monte Cristo. I'm also a big geek; Xbox, Star Wars, Marvel. I'm into it all!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BAND/ALBUM?
My favourite album is Costello Music by the Fratellis.
FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT AND WHAT?
If theres no budget, Marco Pierre Whites in the Cube for a nice Fillet Steak.
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL MOTTO?
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing, moderation is for cowards.
