WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY AT FIRE GLASS LIKE FOR YOU?
I’ve been in this role for some time, and although no two days are the same, they’re grounded in a consistent framework across sales, deliveries, purchasing, and production. Keeping these functions running smoothly creates structure, keeps things on track, and gives me the clarity to focus on what matters most each day.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I enjoy seeing the team take pride in what they do and how they go about their work. It makes a real difference to the overall standard and atmosphere.
WHAT PARTS OF YOUR JOB DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING?
I find it most challenging when supplier quality issues – particularly with glass - start to impact both production output and team morale. Managing that balance and maintaining standards across both areas is a constant focus.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO IS SEEKING THE SAME LINE OF WORK?
Understand that people and customers come first in this line of work. Be proactive in your development, make the most of training opportunities, and you’ll set yourself up well for long-term growth.
WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Outside of work, life revolves around my 6- and 9-year-old. I spend most of my time running between football, Cubs, Rainbows, and swimming – basically a very busy taxi service! When I get a spare moment, I enjoy a round of golf or having friends round for dinner or a BBQ.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BAND/ALBUM?
The Libertines- Up the Bracket
FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT AND WHAT?
Chez Jules. It’s hard to beat their steak tartare.
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL MOTTO?
Be prepared - From many years in scouting!
