EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL
May
2021

April awards two employees with Employee of the Month. Thomas Anderson, Glass Operative at Fire Glass Scotland and Jade Lashford, Sales and Estimating, Fire Glass East.

Thomas was nominated for Employee of the Month by William Mutch. William said, “Over the last few weeks, Thomas has cut his tea and lunch breaks short on numerous occasions to help customers or unload deliveries without being asked; on top of this, he has not claimed any time back. Thomas has also used his skills to fix various machinal issues with the cutting machines resulting in money saved from outsourcing engineers and keeping disruption to customer deliveries to a minimum. He starts earlier than his contracted hours and has even worked late with an engineer to fit our new table. He even came in on a Saturday to show the guys how to work the table, again without asking.

Thomas is a team player and has saved our branch money on call outs for engineers and, more importantly, kept the disruption to customer deliveries to a minimum. We are happy to have Thomas on our team”.

Jade was nominated for Employee of the month by Geoff Clarkson. Geoff has been working alongside Jade and supporting her with her new Sales position. Geoff said, “Jade has shown a natural ability in her new sales role; initially, she was employed as an estimator with little or no experience of glass; however, she quickly learnt and instantly got on well with all staff and customers. Jade has contributed with sales from estimating and has always hit her targets. She ensures that the glass products sold achieve the best possible target, bringing on new customers and rekindling relationships with lapsed customers, which can only be a positive for the branch.

Having only joining Fire Glass just before the outbreak of Covid so has spent a lot of time working from home. Jade has taken on estimating for several branches and collates the daily sales and estimating figures for all branches each day. Each week she runs Rep reports distributing to the Operations, Branch and Sales Managers. Jade has now taken on the role of Sales for East and has already hit her daily targets every day. Jade deserves a huge pat on the back for her accomplishments and contributions in such difficult times.

Jade paid her first customer visit in March and met Michael Pepper from Michael Pepper Joinery in Derby. She gained lost sales of glass products, and the customer was delighted with the customer service he received. I was an observer at the meeting, and I would say Jade expressed herself very well and provided an excellent representation of Fire Glass. We have customers who now ask to speak with her for advice on glass types and technical Certifier sheets. Jade always acts positively and already is showing a passion for the role”.

Well done Thomas and Jade.
