1. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
2. Review job orders to determine work priorities.
3. Directs workers and contractors engaged in machines, buildings and grounds maintenance activities.
4. Develops an effective preventative maintenance program.
5. Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
6. Ensures that all certificates of compliance are maintained and up to date in accordance with relevant legislation.
7. Ensuring that all electrical equipment is in safe working order in line with current legislation.
8. Responding quickly and effectively to any emergencies.
9. Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
10. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimise operating costs, and effect greater utilisation of labour and materials.
11. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
12. Directs training and induction on use of machines/tools as necessary to improve work performance and acquaint staff with company policies and procedures.
13. Confers with management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
14. The post holder must also undertake other duties within his/her competenceor otherwise appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
15. Comply with the company’s policies and procedures as set out within the Employee Handbook, Accreditation Manual (including Best Practice Quality Guide) and the Health and Safety Manual, as updated from time to time.
16. Comply with the requirements for the role as set out within the company’s Integrated Management System (currently comprising of the Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and the Health and Safety Management System), as updated from time to time.
17. Comply with the requirements of any Core Duties or other relevant procedural or policy document applicable to your role.
