Knowledge is key when it comes to fire safety glazing.
As part of our commitment to supporting customers across the industry, Fire Glass provides CPD seminars designed to build knowledge, improve understanding and give professionals greater confidence when working with fire-rated and safety glass.
Our “Fire Safety Glazing – A System, Not a Product” CPD covers key areas, including glass classifications, safety glass, fire resistance, integrity, and insulation, while providing practical insight into the solutions available in the market.
And while we know the content is important, we also believe that how it is delivered matters.
So, as part of our Feedback Friday series, we wanted to share some of the feedback we’ve received from customers who have attended our CPD sessions.
Building knowledge from the ground up
For those who are new to the glass and glazing industry, understanding the terminology, classifications and applications can be a steep learning curve.
One door modifier in Southern England commented:
“As someone who is new to this industry, and expanding my understanding and knowledge on products we use in this market as a company, I felt the seminar was extremely helpful and well presented.”
They also highlighted the balance of the presentation, noting that it was long enough to cover the necessary information without becoming difficult for attendees to stay engaged with.
For another glass company in Southern England, the session provided a useful introduction to the fundamentals:
“Really well presented by Dave, answered all our questions and really helped the newer employees understand more about the basics of pyro-glass.”
Making complex subjects easier to understand
Fire-rated glazing involves technical terminology, classifications and performance requirements that can be difficult to navigate, particularly for those developing their knowledge.
Clear explanations and the opportunity to ask questions are therefore an important part of our CPD sessions.
A door modifier in the East Midlands said:
“The session was engaging, informative, and relevant, and I found it to be a worthwhile learning experience.”
They also described presenter Jade as knowledgeable and well prepared, highlighting the clarity with which the information was explained.
The importance of understanding fire performance was also highlighted by a door manufacturer in Scotland:
“The information regarding insulation and integrity was very useful and good knowledge to know with regards to fire rated glasses available.”
More than just a presentation
Our CPDs are designed to be interactive, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and discuss areas that are particularly relevant to their work.
That personal approach was reflected in feedback from a door modifier in Southern England:
“David was very friendly, approachable, and happy to answer any questions our team had, and we are grateful for his time.”
For a door manufacturer in the North of England, the overall takeaway was simple:
“Overall the presentation by Richard went very well and I feel like we gained valuable knowledge.”
Continuing to support our customers
We’re delighted to receive such positive feedback from customers across the UK, and it reinforces why sharing knowledge is such an important part of what we do.
Whether someone is new to the industry or simply wants to refresh and expand their existing knowledge, our CPD seminars provide an opportunity to learn more about fire safety glazing, understand the terminology and classifications involved, and gain practical knowledge that can be applied to future projects.
Knowledge is key. And the more we understand about fire safety glazing, the better equipped we are to specify and deliver the right solutions.
