Michael is Branch Manager at Fire Glass Scotland, he is responsible for overseeing the sales, production and transport departments to make sure the branch is running efficiently.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY AT FIRE GLASS LIKE FOR YOU?
There was a time when there was no such thing as a typical day for me but as the team here has grown in both numbers and experience coupled with the advances in available technology and reporting, these things have allowed me to be much more regimented and productive during my days.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I've always loved logistics and with the introduction of GTRAK's delivery manger it made this aspect of the business very slick.
WHAT PARTS OF YOUR JOB DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING?
Machinery repairs; it's taken me a long time but I'm starting to be a bit more fluent in engineer speak. Having Luke on board at FGUK and visiting us regularly has been a great help.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO IS SEEKING THE SAME LINE OF WORK?
Look for ways to constantly improve your business, your facilities and your environment.
WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
When not rearing two young children I love a game of golf (even though I'm rubbish at it)

FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT AND WHAT?
Chez Jules in Edinburgh; wine in tumblers, they bring a dauphinoise and salad for everyone to share and everything you can get to go with it is good. I also love a Kebab.
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL MOTTO?
"It is what it is" Mainly in reference to my Golf.
