Alex McAtamney, Glass Operative at Fire Glass South has been awarded the first Employee of the Month 2022. He was nominated for the award by Scott Knight.

Scott said: Alex had shown tremendous improvements over the last few months, which initially began when he started working on the RBB saw, which showed he doubled the capacity this machine had been outputting. He has also been pushing the number of offcuts the saw uses. Not only has this hugely impacted the production figures, but it has also helped the branch’s performance in the offcut league tables. 

Alex has also recently volunteered to be one of our Health and Safety champions at Fire Glass South. He has really taken to this role and addresses any issues with the team with dignity. 

As well as his dedication to his work, each week, he submits a well-written SMAT addressing essential issues in the branch. He sets an excellent example for our other team members at Fire Glass South.”
