Driving Forward: Supporting Greener Travel with Ne …

2026

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact, members of our Northern Territory team are beginning the transition to fully electric company vehicles as part of our wider green policy.

Michael Morton, Branch Manager and Andy Garrity, Sales Representative for Fire Glass Scotland, along with Richard Ainley, Sales Representative for Fire Glass North, recently collected their new electric vehicles as part of the latest round of replacement company cars. The move marks another positive step in our journey towards more environmentally responsible business operations.

By introducing electric vehicles into our fleet, we are helping to reduce carbon emissions, improve fuel efficiency, and support cleaner travel across the regions we serve. As a business that values long-term sustainability, small changes like these play an important role in reducing our overall environmental footprint.

The timing is especially fitting as we recognise World Environment Day, a global initiative that encourages businesses and communities to take positive action for the planet. Environmental responsibility is not limited to one day – it forms part of our wider approach to how we operate.

Alongside the introduction of electric vehicles, we continue to build on other sustainability initiatives across the business. Our ongoing recycling scheme with Pilkington has helped support responsible waste management and material recycling, reinforcing our commitment to reducing unnecessary landfill waste and encouraging a more circular approach to industry materials.

We also continue to invest in our express delivery service, helping customers receive products more efficiently while reducing unnecessary journeys and supporting efforts to lower carbon emissions through smarter logistics planning.

Every step, no matter how big or small, contributes to a greener future — and we are proud to see our teams embracing initiatives that help move the business in a more sustainable direction.
