Gearing up for a 100Mile charity bike ride
May
2021

Paul Cartwright, our digital marketing guru, has decided to take part in an epic 100-mile charity bike ride in aid of Prostate Cancer UK on 15th May.

Paul is a keen road cyclist and a member of the Royal Leamington Cycle Club who cycle the lanes of Warwickshire every weekend. In 2015 he got the chance to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats on a road bike which took a total of 10 days and covered 970 miles.

Paul is always looking for a new challenge, so, when someone mentioned cycling 100 miles in one day (but this time on a mountain bike) due to a friend losing the fight against prostate cancer and another friend currently fighting against the illness, it was a no-brainer and decided to do the challenge to raise awareness and as much money as possible.

Paul said, “Mountain biking is a new challenge to me, as the terrain is much different to road cycling; it should take us around 10-12 hours with a few food breaks to complete around Warwickshire (and beyond). I’m fairly new to riding a mountain bike and have already discovered new muscles that now hurt but have come to realise the challenge as 60% Mind, 38% Physical and 2% cake!“.

If you would like to show Paul some support you can donate to his Just Giving page; no matter what the amount, it would be very much appreciated: https://cyclethemonth.prostatecanceruk.org/fundraising/cycle-100-mile-in-one-day-on-mountain-bike
