SPOT OUR GLASS: Premier Inn, Oldbury
May
2026

While on a work trip to Fire Glass Head Office for a sales meeting, Brian Tilley, Sales Manager, spotted great examples of fire-rated glazing in action at the newly refurbished Premier Inn on Wolverhampton Road, Oldbury.

Within the installation, Brian identified two different fire-rated glass solutions used in adjacent doors. One door featured Pyrobelite 7, while the other was glazed with Pilkington Pyrostop.

Both products are widely used in commercial hospitality environments, offering reliable fire protection while maintaining transparency and light transmission. The use of different systems within the same refurbishment highlights how fire-rated glazing can be specified to meet varying performance requirements without compromising on design consistency.

It’s a strong example of modern hotel refurbishment where safety, compliance, and aesthetics are carefully balanced and another solid ‘Spot Our Glass’ find.
