If you’re particular about your coffee, “instant” might not be good enough. When it comes to fire safety, there’s far more at stake.
We understand the appeal of an immediate price. Projects move quickly, budgets need managing and deadlines don’t wait.
But fire-rated glass isn’t a one-size-fits-all product. At Fire Glass, we take a considered approach to quoting because the right solution depends on more than dimensions and price.
A fire rating is only part of the picture
“I need 30-minute fire glass” may sound like a straightforward enquiry, but it leaves important questions unanswered.
Does the application require integrity only, radiation control or insulation?
Will the glass be installed in a door, screen or window?
Which framing system will be used?
These details help us identify the right glass for your project. Even if two products have the same fire rating, they may be approved for different sizes or framing systems, so one cannot always replace the other.
It’s the complete system that matters
Fire-resistant glass must be used as part of an appropriately approved glazing system. The glass, frame, glazing seals, beads and fixings must work together to deliver the required performance.
The proposed glass dimensions and framing configuration must be covered by appropriate test evidence and any applicable assessment or approval. This does not mean every individual pane size requires a separate fire test, but it must fall within the permitted scope of that evidence.
Width and height matter, not simply the total glass area. Likewise, approval for use in one framing system does not automatically mean a product is suitable for another.
Why we ask you to complete our quote sheet
Our Fire-Rated Glass Quote Sheet brings together the essential information we need to review your enquiry, including:
- The required fire classification and duration.
- Glass dimensions and quantities.
- Details of the door or framing system.
- The intended application and available specification.
- Additional requirements, such as acoustic performance or an insulated glass unit.
Completing the sheet helps our team assess your requirements and identify anything that needs confirming before we provide a quotation. If you’re unsure about a detail, your local Fire Glass team can help you understand what information is needed.
Establishing these details early reduces the risk of unsuitable products being ordered, avoidable replacements and delays later in the project.
One specialist supplier. A solution suited to your project.
With access to fire-rated glass from leading manufacturers, Fire Glass offers the flexibility to consider suitable options for your application and budget.

Prompt service. Proper consideration.
Taking care over a quotation shouldn’t mean unnecessary delay. Our aim is to respond promptly while giving your requirements the attention they deserve.
An instant price tells you what a product costs. On its own, it doesn’t confirm whether that product is suitable for your glazing system.
There’s no second chance with safety. That’s why we ask the right questions from the start.
